Green Electronics 2013

The International CARE Electronics Office was organising the Green Electronics 2013 workshop on Resource Efficiency in the Electric and Electronics Industry. It was taking place from November 4 – 6, 2013 in Budapest, Hungary.

Mobile plant

Still hardly one day passes where we cannot read about that future shortages of several resources (e.g. export bans of rare earth materials, prices for several metals being very volatile, …). In 2010 the European Commission has identified a list of 14 economically important raw materials which are subject to a higher risk of supply interruption. The European Commission and several member states have monitored the issue of critical raw materials and set different priority actions. But how did industry leaders respond to this threat?

What are major sectors and players in the electric and electronic industry already doing to substitute and/or recover those critical materials? What are the trends in research and innovation? How can we collect more End-of-Life products?

Are these raw materials still critical? Or has there been a fundamental change that led to declining prices recently? Has the pressure on industry gone already? Will it come back? What will the future bring in this area?

These are some of the questions that were discussed during the workshop. Please visit the Green Electronics 2013 website for further information.

Green Electronics 2011

The International CARE Electronics Office organised the Green Electronics 2011 workshop on Resource Efficiency in the Electric and Electronics Industry. It took place from November 8 – 10, 2011 in Bucharest, Romania, the second largest market in Eastern Europe.

Looking back on the workshop in Bucharest with participating experts from the industry, management and government sector of America, Asia and Europe the Green Electronics 2013 was just as successful as in 2011.

Going Green – CARE INNOVATION 2010

The 5th Going Green – CARE INNOVATION 2010 conference took place from November 8 – 11, 2010 in the Schoenbrunn Palace Conference Center in Vienna, Austria. We are proudly looking back on the most successful conference we have ever organised in Vienna.

With a wide range of experts from industry (again more than 60%), academia, NGOs and policy the Going Green – CARE INNOVATION 2010 conference gave valuable insights how the electronics industry, science and policy approach the global challenges of sustainability and climate change. Legislative actions, higher efficiency, less resource consumption, new approaches towards sustainable development and reuse were other key topics.

Thank you for your continuing interest and support and see you at Going Green – CARE INNOVATION 2014 in Vienna!
